Community Health Awareness Campaign

As a part of its pioneering community role, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah had held an interactive platform in City Center Fujairah on December 25 and 26, 2021 with the aim of promoting community health by educating the public audience about the importance of essential health checkups, including blood pressure, pulse rate and blood sugar checks, as well as Body mass index check.
The examination platform also included a corner of pharmaceutical education and the role of pharmacy in society as a main source of safe and effective manufacture of pharmaceutical preparations, through a comprehensive explanation model for the stages of oral tablets manufacturing from herbal source.
The platform team also presented the college in its new look and its history of achievements to the public. The work team also provided pharmaceutical care advice under the supervision of college’s teaching assistants Mr. Mohamed Abdelkader and Mr. Nader Abu Mukhaimer, and Mr. Tarek Shahin who coordinated this event. In addition to the active participation of college’s students Nadya Al-Khuzaimi, Sarah Yammahi, Alya Abdulrahim, Sohair Mahmoud, Salsabil Al-Ghamry, Saja Al-Nasiri, and Thuraya Emad.
It is worth mentioning that the number of pharmaceutical examinations that were conducted exceeded 350 examinations over the two days.
Prof. Sumia Sir Elkhatim – College’s dean – had expressed her thanks and appreciation to the management of City Center Fujairah, especially the unlimited support from His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Al Bolooshi - Senior Manager at Majid Al Futtaim Group. Her Excellency affirmed that serving the local community of Fujairah will remain a top strategic priority for the college, and that these services will be expanded in the near future.
