The International Conference of Pharmacy & Exhibition Event is UAE's one of the most functionally important Pharmaceutical & Healthcare exhibition. This year ICPM is happening in Dubai under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.
The university participated in a platform aimed at introducing visitors to the scientific colleges and their role in the medical field, in addition to the rest of the university colleges.
The students of the Faculty of Dentistry and Pharmacy participated in four scientific posters that are in line with the objectives of the conference. The participation of the students, Shaikha alnoun aldhanhani, Raghad Saleh Basmaji, and Alya abulrahim addressed the issue of The Impact Of 4D Printing On Healthcare Transformation. The students Salsabeel Mohamed Ahmed, Sohair Mahmoud Moussa also addressed the issue of The Emerging Role of Organ-on-a-Chip in drug discovery and development. The students Afra Hamdan, Nadya Saeed, and Shamsa Salem deal with Patient adherence to medications among the public in UAE. The students Maha Khamies Alhashmis, Fairous Ahmed Badr addressed an idea about health services & care for those who are in need by a novel idea: the PRUDENT- Thought for Future dentistry.
Members of the academic staff of the College of Dentistry also participated in being a part of the organizing committee of the students’ Competition with Prof. Asmaa Harhash’s participation and by giving lectures during the conference. The lectures were conducted by Prof. Aziza Aldarat, Dr. Ye Wint Oo and Dr Nabeel Kalluvalappil.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Khalfan Saeed Al Kindi mentioned that, ICPM was born where its vision is to connect people within the Healthcare Industry - Service Providers, Healthcare Professionals, Pharmaceutical Companies, & Local Government Authorities to have a long-lasting trustworthy business relationships.
During the conference, the poster of the participating students Salsabeel Mohamed Ahmed, and Sohair Mahmoud Moussa won first place. The poster of Shaikha alnoun aldhanhani, Raghad Saleh Basmaji, and Alya abulrahim won second place and finally the poster of Afra Hamdan, Nadya Saeed, Shamsa Salem won the fifth place. Also, Pharmacy students Sarah Alyamahi, Alya Abdulrahim, and Shahad Maysarah won first place in the inter- universities competition after strong fighting against the other colleges for other participating universities.
His Excellency, Prof Ali Abo Elnour, Chancellor of the University of Science & Technology of Fujairah expressed his happiness and gratitude for the joint spirit of cooperation between the colleges and their role in highlighting the university and its active role in medical forums. He also praised the efforts of the students and their keenness to appear in the honorable image of the university.
His Excellency explained the importance and role of conferences in enriching the scientific outcome of students and opening horizons for them to look into the future and define the identity that they aspire to.
