University of Science and Technology of Fujairah  Celebrates World Social Work Day

The Department of Sociology and Social Work, in collaboration with the Community Service Committee and the Extracurricular Activities Department at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah, organized an event to celebrate World Social Work Day. The theme of the event was "Respecting Diversity through Joint Social Work."

The event was held on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah, and was attended by Sheikh Saed bin Suroor Al Sharqi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fujairah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ahmed Sultan Al Hantoubi, Vice Chairman of the Chamber, Dr. Ali Abu Alnour, University Director, University Deputy Directors, academic and administrative staff, leaders from various institutions, social workers, and students.

The purpose of the event was to raise awareness of the value of social work as a profession and to honor the hard work and prominent role of social workers in serving communities. The event was also an opportunity for academics, social work professionals, and members of different institutions to discuss important issues related to the future of the profession.

The event featured several speakers who emphasized the importance of social work and addressed important issues related to the future of the profession. Dr. Amal Bin Garsh from the Emirates Health Services Foundation delivered a lecture on "Empowering Social Workers in Medical Institutions." She spoke about the professional skills required for social workers in the medical field and the role of social work in connecting patients with community institutions.

University of Science and Technology of Fujairah's celebration of World Social Workday was a successful event that highlighted the importance of social work and recognized the hard work and dedication of social workers in serving their communities
