Event Title: Scientific Seminar "Be Positive and Make a Change" Location: Conference Hall Mode: In-person Duration: 3 hours and 30 minutes Time: 5:00 PM Date: October 18, 2023 Day: Wednesday

In support of scientific and research activities, the Department of Psychology at the College of Humanities and Sciences at the University organized a scientific seminar with the theme "Be Positive and Make a Change," presented by Professor Dr. Marai Ahmed, a psychology professor at Ajman University. The seminar took place at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, in the University's conference hall.

During the presentation, Dr. Marai emphasized that in today's fast-paced and demanding world, it is easy for negativity to take over. However, research shows that adopting a positive mindset can have numerous benefits for our mental and physical health, our relationships, and our overall well-being.

One of the most significant benefits of a positive mindset is reducing stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that individuals who practice positive thinking techniques, such as reframing negative thoughts and focusing on the present moment, experience lower levels of stress and anxiety. Additionally, positive individuals are more resilient and better equipped to handle challenges. They tend to have a more optimistic outlook on life, allowing them to view setbacks as temporary and solvable. This mindset can help them recover from hardships more quickly and effectively. Furthermore, positive thinking enhances social relationships and connections. People with a positive outlook on life tend to be more friendly and empathetic.

The seminar also focused on climate issues and their psychological effects, as well as coping strategies and psychological resilience to build mental strength in the face of climate change.
