Celebrating the Next Generation of Sustainability Champions: USTF Sustainability Research Second Forum

The University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF) hosted the closing ceremony for the second edition of the High School Sustainability Competition, in line with the UAE’s 2024 Year of Sustainability initiative. This event is a key part of the UAE’s broader strategy to promote sustainability across various sectors, aiming to elevate awareness and foster a culture of sustainability among the youth.

 

The competition brought together high school students from across the nation to share their innovative ideas and experiences related to sustainability. This initiative not only highlighted the students' commitment to sustainability but also contributed to empowering a new generation of creative and forward-thinking individuals.

 

Winners of the High School Sustainability Competition 2024:

 

Group A (Grades 10, 11, and 12):

 

1st and 2nd Place Winners: 2 winners

Category Winners (5 categories, 3 winners each): 15 winners

 

Group B (Grade 9 and below):

 

1st and 2nd Place Winners: 2 winners

Category Winners (5 categories, 3 winners each): 15 winners

 

In addition to the main competition, extra awards were given for outstanding contributions:

 

Best Project  Videos: 3 winners

Distinguished Participation: 3 winners

 

The High School Sustainability Competition at USTF has successfully demonstrated the importance of integrating sustainability into education and has showcased the remarkable potential of young minds in contributing to a sustainable future. The University remains committed to supporting initiatives that nurture and develop the talents of students, ensuring they are well-equipped to tackle the environmental challenges of tomorrow.
