A distinguished conclusion to the chess championship at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah. The university, in cooperation with the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, organized the tournament with the participation of 30 players from the university and the chess club. The players demonstrated good and strong performances throughout the tournament from March 7th to March 8th, 2023. During the tournament, player Mohammed Yousuf Al Ali won first place, followed by player Anas Al Mansouri in second place, and player Hamid Abdullah Al Zuhmi in third place.
Dr. Samah Khamis, Director of Admissions and Registration at the university, Dr. Sayed Abdul Rahman, Head of the Community Service Committee, along with Jassim Hikl Al Balushi, Director of Public Relations at the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club, and Ramzi Ghuneim, Sports Supervisor, crowned the winners of the first places.
Professor Dr. Ali Abou Alnour, the university's director, expressed his happiness with the mental abilities demonstrated by the participants in the tournament, describing it as contributing to creating a good competitive atmosphere between the student community and the local community. He confirmed the university's great interest in sports as an important part of the educational system by organizing many events and tournaments and providing a suitable environment for academic excellence. He thanked the Fujairah Chess and Culture Club and the organizing committee, led by the university's sports supervisor, Ramzi Ghneim, and congratulated the winners.
