College of Business Administration organized a Workshop titled “The Most Beautiful Winter in Fujairah.”

In cooperation with the Fujairah Tourism & Antiquities Authority and Fujairah National Hotels Corporation, the College of Business Administration organized and hosted a workshop titled “the most Beautiful Winter in Fujairah”, focused on tourism and hospitality in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. The workshop was designed to provide students and professionals with an overview of the tourism and hospitality industry in Fujairah and to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field. The workshop featured presentations from officials, industry experts, and academician on a variety of topics, including:

The future of tourism in Fujairah and employment opportunities

The ecotourism and cop 28 and Sustainable tourism practices

Marketing and promoting tourism in Fujairah.

Dr. Abdallah Elamin, Dean of the College of Business Administration, addressed at the start of the workshop, stating that this workshop is part of a series of workshops that the CBA has been organizing on a regular basis to deepen the academic and professional discourse. Furthermore, it is founded on the university's mission of interacting with the business community, adopting constructive theses, and casting light on new business experiences.

This workshop comes as an integral part of enhancing theoretical knowledge in Hospitality and Tourism, which consolidates the information in students' minds and gives them the necessary knowledge as a part of the educational process, which leads to better learning.

The program began with a presentation by HE Saeed Abdullah Al Samahi, Director General of the Fujairah Tourism and Antiquities Authority. He discussed the importance of tourism in the UAE in general, and in Fujairah in particular, as well as the obstacles, opportunities, and future plans.

The second speaker was Her Excellency Zainab Al Kaabi, Director General of Fujairah National Hotels Corporation. She discussed the role of hotels in the tourism and hospitality industries, as well as employment possibilities, obstacles, and future plans to improve the hospitality sector in Fujairah Emirate.

Dr. Liza Gernal, a CBA faculty member, was the third speaker in the workshop and gave a presentation about Wadi Warriah, a popular tourist destination listed with UNISCO. She also emphasized the significance of ecotourism in relation to the goals of Cop 28.

Students, professionals, and members of the public attended in large numbers. Participants actively participated in the discussions and found the information presented to be useful.

 

"The tourism and hospitality industry is a major driver of economic growth in Fujairah," said CBA Dean Dr. Elamin. "This workshop was an opportunity for us to share our knowledge and expertise with the community and to help prepare the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals. "The College of Business is committed to preparing students for success in the tourism and hospitality industries. The college also intends to offer a diploma program in tourism management in order to supply the market with needed tourism professionals.

At the conclusion of the workshop, HE Prof. Ali Abouelnour, Chancellor of the USTF, thanked and honored the workshop speakers.

The attendees thanked and appreciated the guest speaker as well as the CBA for organizing this valuable workshop, which benefits enhancing knowledge and educational awareness in all aspects of tourism and hospitality. Several university faculty members, students, and those interested in the topic participated enthusiastically in the workshop and interacted with the speakers.
