Emirates Hackathon 2020 Gets Underway at University of Science & Technology of Fujairah (USTF)

In the presence of Sheikh Abdalla Bin Hamad Bin Saif Al Sharqi, President of the UAE Bodybuilding & Fitness Association, Vice President of the Asian Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness, the UAE Hackathon 2020 in Fujairah Emirate was launched yesterday February 18 in the precincts of the University of Science & Technology of Fujairah (USTF) and is scheduled to continue up to February 20 at USTF.

 A large gathering consisting of participating team members, organizers, local and federal government officials, sponsors, and USTF’s faculty and students attended the launch of the event.

The opening session was addressed by Mr. Salem Al Hosani, Deputy Director General of Information Sector at Telecommunication Regulatory Authority, followed by Prof. Ali Abu Elnour, Chancellor of University of Science & Technology of Fujairah (USTF), Eng. Alaa Sulaiman Khalifa, representing Fujairah e-Government, and Eng. Maryam Al Hendasi, Head of IT Section at Fujairah Government’s Finance Department.

The speakers lauded the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership as reflected in the Hackathon annual events, with the all the challenges and opportunities that this nationwide activity creates. In this respect, Prof. Ali Abu Elnour, USTF Chancellor, explained that by hosting the Hackathon 2020 the newly accredited University of Science & Technology of Fujairah is translating into positive action the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, and those of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of USTF’s Board of Trustees, concerning excellence as a strategic priority for USTF in education, research, community partnership, student life, and university services.
