Fujairah Crown Prince attends the First Graduation Ceremony at USTF

Under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University of Science & Technology of Fujairah (USTF), the first-ever  graduation ceremony in the history of the university was organized on Tuesday June 8, 2021. The ceremony was also attended by honorable Sheikhs and heads of federal and local departments in addition to representatives of USTF’s faculty and administrative staff.

The graduates of the Fiftieth Year Class belonged to a number of programs and specializations at the university ranging from Law and Public Relations through Psychology and Business Administration to Pharmacy and Sociology & Social Work. This batch was aptly named the “Year of the Fiftieth Class” following the initiative of the UAE Wise Leadership in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Union.

Representing the graduates at the ceremony, Yaaqub Yusuf Al Marashda conveyed the determination of graduates to dedicate themselves to the service of their community and country and steadfast allegiance to the UAE leadership.

In the key address, the Chancellor of the University, Prof. Ali Abu El Nour, praised the leadership of UAE, headed by His Highness Sheikh Khaleifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for the brilliant and continuous achievements in all areas. He also expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Fujairah, and for His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, Chairman of USTF Board of Trustees, for their generous patronage and support for the university.

The Chancellor took the opportunity to sample some of the notable achievements of the university at all levels, including the delivery of quality education despite the current Covid-19 related constraints in addition to the expansion in undergraduate programs required by the labor market such as Information Technology, Cyber Security, and Electric Power & Renewable Energy. Other outstanding achievements related to community service, scientific research, the planned introduction of postgraduate programs in Business Entrepreneurship and Sociology & Social Work, the signing of memoranda of understanding with prestigious internal and external bodies and academic institutions, and last but not least, support of graduates through employment and recruitment orientation, training, and continuous education.

At the conclusion of the event, the graduates received their certificates in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince who, in turn, graciously received the University trophy as a token of special gratitude to His Highness as Chairman of USTF’s Board of Trustees.
