Scientific trip to the Al Taween area

Within the framework of its community service programs aimed at connecting university students with society, the Community Service Committee organized a cultural scientific trip to the Al Taween area. The purpose of this trip was to familiarize the students with the folk heritage in the field of traditional medicine and herbal remedies in the United Arab Emirates. The students had the opportunity to learn about the experiences of citizen herbalist Um Saeed. She shared her knowledge about traditional medicine and the use of local herbs in the UAE, discussing her personal experiences and the inheritance of this profession from her ancestors. Um Saeed is actively involved in passing down this folk heritage to the current generations, including her relatives.
During the trip, the students were introduced to the social and cultural dimensions of traditional medicine through dialogues with Um Saeed. She emphasized that she deals with medical cases both within and outside the country.
