University of Science and Technology of Fujairah Students Dominated UAE Hackathon 4.0 “Data for happiness and wellbeing” Awards

Students of University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF) won The Grand  Prize, as well as first prizes in Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah Emirates, in The 4th UAE Hackathon 2021 “ Data for Happiness & Wellbeing”, organized virtually by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, with the support of the Ministry of Community Development, for providing innovative solutions and smart ideas to challenges in line with UAE’s future trends in promoting digital transformation and creating a stimulating environment for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) tools.

UAE Hackathon "Data for Happiness and Wellbeing", in its 4th edition, witnessed a great Participation from all emirates across UAE. The total number of participating teams in the UAE Hackathon 4.0 were 330 teams, including more than 50 teams from University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF), who presented their smart ideas and creative skills to win The Virtual UAE Hackathon 4.0 “Data for Happiness & Wellbeing”. USTF students aimed to providing solutions to the challenges adopted by The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority to achieve its gools which contributes to achieving the UAE vision 2021. The challenges focus on:

  • Digital transformation
  • Financial technology
  • Environment and climate change
  • Security, safety, and justice
  • Smart sustainable cities
  • Entertainment and e-sports
  • Travel and tourism
  • World-class education and world-class healthcare
  • Work efficiency and productivity
  • The Golden Jubilee of the UAE

His Excellency Salem Al Housani, Acting Deputy Director - General Information & eGovernment Sector, announced the 21 winning teams at The UAE Hackathon 4.0 virtual closing ceremony, held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.  The largest share of the winning teams were from University of Science and Technology of Fujairah as they managed to win seven prizes, including The Grand Prize, and the first prizes on each of Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah Emirates.

This great achievement based primely on the enthusiasm of the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah, and its different colleges, administrative, and technical units, to intensify the necessary efforts and support as a strategic partner in organizing and participating in the UAE Hackathon 4.0 to embodies cooperation, solidarity and eagerness of the community to achieve a goal pursued by UAE’s leadership and government to have a creative and productive digital world within a safe and positive digital community and to enhance and serve the happiness and progress of the United Arab Emirates United.

The Grand Prize-winning team over all the United Arab Emirates

The "COMMUNOHEALTH APP" team from the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at University of Science and Technology of Fujairah won the Grand Prize over all United Arab Emirates. The "COMMUNOHEALTH APP" team included Sarah Mosabbah Mohamed Alayyan Al Yammahi, Shahd Maysara Ismail Al Kharraz, and Alia Abdul Rahim Othman. The team participated in world-class healthcare challenge by creating a health system with international standards through an application aims to combine the provision of services and health requirements for the community. The application contained a platform for donating blood with the possibility for donors to obtain points within a system of rewards. It contains a platform for donating medicines and volunteer work, and a platform to spread Health Awareness among individuals, as well as a hotline to respond to inquiries and provide necessary health warnings in times of health crisis.

The Top Tree winning teams of Sharjah Emirate

The "Touchless" team from College of Dentistry won the first Prize of Sharjah Emirate. The team included Ismaeel Sobhe Altayasna, College of Dentistry graduate.

The "Creative" team from the College of Law at University of Science and Technology of Fujairah won the second prize of Sharjah Emirate. The team consisted of Badriya Hamad Al Shafei, Eidah Saeed Mohamed Aldahmani, and Dr. Enas Al Khalidi.

The “Essence of Intelligence” team from College of Arts, Architecture and Interior Design won the third Prize of Sharjah Emirate. The team included Maitha Hilal Saeed Al Nuaimi, Marah Alaeddin, and Rasha Ayman.

The winning teams of Fujairah Emirate

The “Madrasate” team from College of Dentistry won the first prize of Fujairah Emirate. the team included Muhammad Mansour Hussain and Ibrahim Mansour Hussain.

The “VTech” team from College of Engineering and Information Technology won the second prize of Fujairah Emirate. The team consisted of Eng. Moamen Mahmoud Odeh, Eng. Lamia Khaled Ismail, and Eng. Mona Daher Ali, College of Engineering graduates.

The winning teams of Ras Al Khaimah Emirate

The “COMMUNOHEALTH APP” team from College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at University of Science and Technology in Fujairah won the first prize at the level of Ras Al Khaimah, as well as The Grand Prize aver all United Arab Emirates. The team included Sarah Mosabbah Mohamed Alayyan Al Yammahi, Shahd Maysara Ismail Al Kharraz, and Alia Abdul Rahim Othman.

The "ET Solutions" team from College of Humanities and Sciences at University of Science and Technology of Fujairah won the third prize of Ras Al Khaimah Emirates. the team consisted of Eng. Mona Daher Ali and Eng. Nemo Daher Ali, College of Engineering graduates.
