USTF Hosts Seminar on Workplace Stress and Coping Strategies

Fujairah, October 24, 2024 – As part of its ongoing commitment to foster a supportive work environment, the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF) organized a specialized seminar titled "Workplace Stress and Coping Strategies." This seminar was conducted as part of the university’s 2024-2025 staff development program for administrative personnel. The seminar was led by Dr. Asmaa Siraj Eldin, Associate Professor of Psychology at the College of Humanities and Sciences. Dr. Asmaa shared valuable insights and practical expertise on understanding workplace stress and its impact on employee performance and productivity. Her presentation emphasized the importance of advanced stress management skills that empower staff to enhance productivity and achieve higher job satisfaction. Dr. Asmaa provided an in-depth overview of workplace stress and its various dimensions, highlighting key contributing factors such as daily challenges and increasing work demands. The seminar further explored the psychological and physical effects of stress on employees, including its impact on overall performance and mental well-being. Concluding the session, Dr. Asmaa outlined effective coping strategies to manage workplace stress. The seminar was attended by Dr. Ahmed Zain Elabdin, Vice Chancellor for Financial and Administrative Affairs, along with several members of the university’s administrative staff. Dr. Ahmed emphasized the commitment of HE USTF Chancellor Prof. Ali Abouelnour to prioritize the professional development programs for both faculty and administrative staff. He noted that these initiatives play a vital role in enhancing the skills and competencies of university personnel, aligning with USTF’s strategic goal to achieve excellence in academic and professional performance.
