Dean's Message

The College of Humanities and Sciences (CHS) at the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF) welcomes you and wishes you an enjoyable and fruitful university study full of achievements on both personal and professional levels.
The adequacy of resources enabled the CHS to obtain the initial accreditation of the Commission of Academic Accreditation (CAA) at the Ministry of Education (MOE) in July 2019 to offer three distinguished academic programs that satisfy the needs of students, parents, and job market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the region.
The CAA-accredited academic programs accreditation offered by the CHS are Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Sociology and Social Work, and Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Public Relations and Advertising. These programs provide the students studying in the College with theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a qualified graduate who is capable of competition after graduation.
The College's academic programs provide an excellent and stimulating learning environment for students. The BA programs in psychology, society and social work, and public relations and advertising prepare students to become experts in their fields and ready for practice once graduated. The College students learn critical thinking, problem solving, and team-working to be socially responsible and mature individuals capable of take leading roles in community engagement and serving their university and professions.
The CHS strongly believes in applying learning competencies to practical problems, where theory and practice are combined to deliver viable solutions. The CHS is passionate about helping students to learn about the realities of life and society and providing them with the knowledge and skills required for their job requirements.
The CHS has capable faculty, teaching assistants, and staff from different countries, brought with them a long working experience in reputable higher education institutions before joining the College. They are also familiar with the deep-rooted values and traditions of the United Arab Emirates and the Arab region. Moreover, they also carry an international experience in administration, teaching, and research. The CHS faculty members and teaching assistants are active researchers publishing in distinguished international journals and participating in reputable international conferences.
You are welcome to take part in the activities and initiatives organized by CHS and contribute to enriching University life by your active participation during your study period. CHS is dedicated to serving all students to achieve success and forward together we can make USTF one of the world-ranked universities.

    Prof. Sayed Elwakeel worked as lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor of Clinical Psychology in Fayoum University (Egypt), King Abdul-Aziz University (KSA), IbnSina National College for Medical Sciences (KSA) and University of Science & Technology of Fujairah (UAE) from 2009 to present
  • Regarding to the Scientific Activities:
    - Prof. Elwakeel has a lot of research areas in psychological field such as: research that deals with the field of clinical psychology (diagnosis & Treatment) such as designing and application of counseling and therapeutic programs in the field of psychological, mental, cognitive, behavioral, Psychosomatics, family, and neuropsychiatry; researches that deals with Psychometric Properties of Psychological Scales, researches that deals with the clinical indicators of children's and adult drawings; studies and researches that deal with the applications of Positive Psychology in the clinical field; Studies that dealing with people with determinations and their families; researches that address marginalized(neglected) groups such as (street children, domestic workers, delinquents– orphans – unknown parentage); researches in the field of abnormal & health Psychology; researches that deals with social problems and its psychological impacts.

    - Prof. Elwakeel is a reviewer 17, National & International journals that indexed in Scopus (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) Journals.

    - He is a member of the scientific promotion committees for the degree of Professor and associate professor in psychology at the Saudi, Jordanian and Iraqi universities and the University of Science and technology in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

    - He judged many records and scientific activities of faculty members applying for scientific awards at Egyptian and Arab Universities.

    - Prof. Elwakeel prepared and judged many Bachelor's, master’s, and doctorate programs in Psychology at several Egyptian and Arab Universities.

    - Prof. Elwakeel has Scopus ID, Web of Science Researcher ID, H Index, and is one of the Ranked researchers in the world according to the Stanford University Ranking of scientists globally for 2023, 2024 (AD Scientific Index).

    - Prof. Elwakeel published more than 70 scientific papers in psychology in National & International journals that indexed in Scopus (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) Journals.

    - He Published 17 Books & Scales in Psychological Branches; he also shared in international book with his colleges from USA, and other foreign countries) in publishing a book in positive psychology.

    - He Supervised more than 47 theses in psychology for students in master and PhD. degrees in Egyptian Universities.

    - Prof. Elwakeel discussed more than 81 master and PhD theses in psychology in different universities in Egypt.

    - He shared in more than 43 International Conference in psychology, and he shared in more than 150 training Courses & scientific seminars in Egypt, KSA, & UAE.

    - He established the psychological services unit & the laboratories at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah; he also established the students support unit at Ibn Sina National College of Medical Sciences in Jeddah.
  • Regarding to the administrative posts and positions:
    - Prof. Elwakeel held many administrative positions at Fayoum University such as director of Fayoum University Center for the care and rehabilitation of people with determination& psychology department Council, he was the director of the psychological services unit and psychology laboratories at the Faculty of Education, King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , and advisor to the Deanship of Student Affairs at King Abdul-Aziz University Jeddah KSA, he also was the director of the Student Support Unit at Ibn Sina National College for Medical Sciences in Jeddah KSA.

    - Prof. Elwakeel is a certified reviewer at the National Authority for quality assurance and accreditation in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

    - He Shared in more than 65 of Administrative and scientific Committee in many universities, and institutions.

  • Dr. Bilal's research endeavors primarily center around Fluid Mechanics, encompassing a wide array of topics such as Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, Stretching sheet flows, Boundary layer flows, Heat transfer analysis, Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) phenomena, Peristaltic motion, Unsteady flows, and Blood flow in arteries. His contributions to this field are evident through the publication of numerous research papers in esteemed international journals. Notably, his research work is characterized by its versatility and has garnered significant recognition through citations from fellow researchers.
  • Presently, Dr. Bilal's research pursuits focus on advanced engineering, numerical techniques, and the simulation of flow problems within fluid dynamics. He adeptly employs various mathematical software, including MATLAB and MATHEMATICA, to explore these intricate phenomena. Dr. Bilal's commitment to the scholarly community extends to his role as a reviewer for several international journals.
