Academic Experience
Dr. Basha worked as Teaching Assistant, Assistant Lecturer, Lecturer, Assistant Professor of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts, Helwan University, Egypt between 2001 and present. During this period, she taught courses of General Psychology, Learning, Statistics, Differential Psychology, Special Topics in Psychology, and other courses. She joined Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, KSA as Associate Professor of Psychology, at the Department of Psychology from 2017 to 2021. During this period, Dr. Basha taught various psychology courses, including Evaluation and Assessment of Counseling Techniques, Occupational Psychology, Social Psychology, Statistical Psychology, Group Counselling and other courses.
Dr. Basha has joined the Department of Psychology, College of Humanities and Sciences at USTF in 2021. Since then, she taught clinical psychology, Industrial and organizational psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychometrics, Criminal Psychology, and other courses. She also established a Counseling and Happiness Center, which was opened in 2022. The Center offers educational counselling, marital counselling, psychological counselling, and family counselling. Since its inauguration, Dr. Basha has been Director of the Counseling and 3 Happiness Center, responsible for developing the Center’s annual plan and supervising its implementation.
During her work at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Dr. Basha also worked as E-learning coordinator, Chairwoman of the Committee for addressing academic failure, Quality coordinator of psychology program. Due to her efforts, she received acknowledgement and appreciation for her work in the Committee for Addressing Academic Failure, for the training courses she held for the faculty of the College of Education, the excellence in using elearning system in education, as well as other awards.
During her work at the Faculty of Arts, she also worked as Trainer at the Center of Developing Faculty Members’ Capacities; Data management and survey officer, at the Strategic planning division, Executive Director at the Community service, Environmental Development, Alumni Affairs Division, and Psychology Program Officer at the Quality Assurance and Accreditation unit, at Helwan university. She received award for participation in community activities, appreciation for participating in students’ graduation ceremonies, as well as other awards and certificates.
During her academic career, she taught many undergraduate and graduate courses. She also supervised undergraduate field training at Helwan University and Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. She also supervised and examined several M.A. and Ph.D. theses at Helwan university about various topics in Psychology.
Dr. Basha has chaired various committees throughout her career, including the Organizational Culture, Committee for Addressing Academic Failure, Psychology Program Plan Development Committee, Refereeing Committee of Psychology Courses, the Activity Committee at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University; and Graduate Studies Committee of the Psychology Department, Public relations Committee, and the Committee for Purchasing Scientific Books, at Helwan University. She also participated in several committees including the Happiness, Positivity and Quality of Life Initiative, the Psychology Measures Committee, the Scientific Research Committee, the Testing and Evaluation Committee, and other committees at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, and the Library Committee, the Environmental Affairs Committee, Central Questions Committee, at Helwan University.
During her career, Dr. Basha participated in several psychology-related conferences, seminars, and workshops in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Algeria, India. She is a reviewer of academic studies and articles for reputable local and regional academic journals. She co-authored several books, and published over 20 articles in local, regional and international academic journals. She received Senior fellowship in Education and Learning (SFHEA), Higher Education Academy, in 2021, and the fellowship in Education and Learning (FHEA), in 2020.
