Prof. Asmaa worked as demonstrator, assistant lecturer, lecturer, associate professor, and professor of Restorative Dentistry in several Universities in Egypt between 2003 and present. She joined the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (UAEU) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a Professor of Restorative and Esthetic Dentistry in the Collage of Dentistry from the period 2021-Present. During this period, Prof. Asmaa taught several Dental courses for both undergraduate and graduate students (Interns).
Prof. Asmaa attended many training workshops, short courses, and seminars on Restorative and Esthetic, Biomaterials and many others in the field of dentistry, education and Quality Assurance and related topics in the USA, Spain, England, Egypt, and conducted joint research projects in Canada; Toronto University as a post-Doctoral work in the summer of 2009 when she was invited as a visiting lecturer to the Restorative Department of Toronto University with Professor Omar Moafy; Head of Prosthetic Department where they shared in presenting those researches in IADR in Seattle and Boston USA. In 2008, Prof Asmaa Attended MRD “Member ship for Restorative Dentistry”, The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Revision Course, held in Misr University for Science & Technology, 6th October in Egypt from 29th-30th July 2008.
During the period 2014-2015, Prof. Asmaa joined Al Fayoum University in Egypt, where she had the honor to work as the Vice-Dean for Education the students’ affairs where she managed the administrative day-to-day activities of the faculty, managed the Central Examination Control during the exams in Al Fayoum University, and assessed in the quality assurance committees in the faculty of Dentistry in the aforementioned universities. She coached students to identify their strong points, weaknesses and develop their professional plans and win 1st place during their participation in the national scientific competition held between Universities in March 2015 Held in Egypt. Moreover, she ensured that correct and clear standards of ethical and laboratory practice are set out and implanted the provision of continuous education and learning among students and colleagues. Prof. Asmaa Inspired colleagues & students ways to seek respective opportunities in the field of dentistry, challenging cases in their work which all lead to Awarding her A Certificate of Appreciation from Fayoum University, Faculty of Dentistry for the overall efforts & Role in the Success of this institute in Sep 20th 2020.
During her academic career, she was a Speaker, Chairperson, Judge for research projects, presenter sharing, attending & Participating in many International & National Conferences, Symposiums, Webinars: Educational academic & Clinical in all aspects of Dentistry in many events.
Prof. Asmaa was a supervisor and an external examiner for several MSc and PhD students’ candidates in the faculty of oral and dental surgery in Cairo, Ain Shams and Al Azhar University with many other Publications of in-vitro & in-vivo dental research in many dental Journals and reviewer of books and scientific papers for many regional and international journals and judge in the promotion committee of King Khalid University in Saudi Arabia.
During her professional journey, Prof. Asmaa taught many undergraduate and graduate courses in Pre-clinical Operative, Clinical Operative, Ethics, Biomaterials, Hospital Dentistry and other extra courses for the interns in MUST, NAHDA, Al fayoum, ERU and USTF. In the meantime, she maintained teaching activity, research activity and Community Services through treatments presented, supervised, or done to patients coming to the collage of Dentistry or the specialized dental center.
During 2022, Prof. Asmaa, at the 2nd semester of joining USTF was awarded 1st Position in Poster Competition Presentation During MBRU 19th March 2022 Dental Education and Research Symposium Held at Mouhamed Bin Rashid University, Dubai, UAE “Effect of Different Biomimetic Materials on white Spot Lesions in Enamel (A Split Mouth Clinical Trial)”.
Prof. Asmaa received a membership in the International Association of dental Research IADR from USA & the UAE. She is also a member in the Egyptian Dental Association.
During her work at USTF, Prof. Asmaa was selected as a Chair of the Health and Safety Committee, member of: the University Schedules’ committee, Resources of Teaching & Learning committee, Students’ Appeal committee, The Students’ Disciplinary Committee, and Promotion and advertising Committee.
