The mission of the B.A. in Psychology Program with the mission of the University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF). The Psychology Program is the practical and executive facet of the USTF’s mission which states that “University of Science and Technology of Fujairah (USTF) is a multicultural university offering a wide range of academic programs that satisfy the needs of students, alumni, labor market and the community. USTF formulates and implements a research strategy to strengthen its recognition and profile and to enhance research impact on society. USTF develops graduates with creative minds, high levels of professional skills, and social responsibility to contribute to the sustainable development of the UAE, the region, and the world.” Through the program, knowledge, research, and studies it helps achieve the stated mission at various aspects of cultural, ethical, and practical knowledge.
The program contributes through its specialization, mission, and objectives in accomplishing the USTF’s mission, through fostering psychological knowledge; developing students’ skills, fostering scientific creativity; encouraging the culture of creativity, excellence and innovation among students and faculty members, helps attract distinguished leadership and faculty members; uses the most up-to-date teaching strategies in order to achieve qualitative quality of the various learning outputs; offers innovative educational and learning methods, e.g. digital learning, collaborative learning, self-learning, and continuous education.
It also incorporates research knowledge into academic curricula and links them with community problems in order to produce a qualified psychologist in terms of knowledge and skills who is capable of benefiting from his/her knowledge in developing scientific research and community service. It also offers a university environment for extracurricular activities that enhance students’ creativity, combines critical and analytic thinking with communication skills. Additionally, it offers job advising and guidance to students by endorsing best practices in student advising, and working on effective partnerships with medical, social and psychological community institutions, in order to develop graduates who are able to cope with the economic and knowledge development requirements for the construction of science and knowledge society.
The College of Humanities and Sciences develops graduates who contribute to the achievement of developmental goals, promotes their research skills to accomplish Fujairah-2040 plan, and the UAE Centennial 2071 vision.
